Glad that you are all going! Be sure to see the craft and hobbies in the Ag building, the varied industry bldg, try all the foods on a stick! Hope the weather stays moderate for you- drink lots of fluids. We always took our children and they usually had a great time. Will be interested to hear about your experiences and take lots of pictures.
Have fun–Peg and Tom
Rose,
Saturdays are crazy at Iowa State Fair lots more people. I would advise you to go during a week day much more enjoyable but I know with work schedules that does not always work.
Look for Stutsman Inc tent it is located straight south of Varied Industry Building you may be able to get a cold drink from Rob Frank who will be working. Make sure to see Butter cow. There is an the Pat Knapp Animal Learning Center they have actual pigs, calves sheep, ducks, chickens, and bunnies and such being born in this area kids and adults love this building. It is over by the Wooden Mill ride. Uncle Tom and Peg are correct make sure to go to the 4H building they have craft and demonstrations going on all the time. There is lots to see depending on your interest and some of the entertainment shows are good also. Tina Frank and Ann Beatsle family plan to be there on Sat . They plan to watch Governor Steer show great event for Ronald McDonald House. Tina Cell # 319-461-7737.
Spicknalls have a great time. Stay hydrated, take water, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes!
Once there be sure to check out the exhibition halls/building as they have many free samples and goodies to give away.
Enjoy!
