The Lazio Family

75 Years ago March 1st

Augustina could hear pounding on the ceiling at 415 E 2nd St in the Store. She was covering for her grandmother Carmella, who was in bed sick. It was her mother Nellie(NONI) to most of us,who was beckoning for help as Frank her husband was having a massive heart attach.

Augustina rushed upstairs to see what the problem was, Nellie was also there with Frank K.  who had just had a major heart attack, and died.

Augustina called for the Dr. on the telephone but it seems he was on another House call to another heart attack patient. Mom can vividly recall that episode in Bisesi history and her life… The year was 1939 and she at 23 years old was the first one there when her father died…

So I don’t know much else of that day but here were 3 women that had to deal with the loss of the Sunshine of their life, provider and main impetus  in The HOLY Family Chapel.

We were blessed to have the fate we have being born into this family by such great fore bearers and are  benefactors  to be in the position to deal with the reminders of their great accomplishments.

It was less than 2 years later that Carmella had the Marian Grotto built and finished (during WW II) as a memorial gift about her son, to St. Matthias Church. Some of you readers had your wedding photos’ there…

And What about Frank K Bisesi? civic and church were his second and third priorities as his family Augustina and Anthony, were first, also his partner in business Michael and all the Bisesi’s he tried to Unite posthumously In The Ho;y Family Chapel…

I just hope that my siblings can keep all this in mind as we move forward in time and more of us get closer to the time we enter

The Holy Family Chapel for the last time, and especially when dealing with each other and certainly in regards to the Chapel Trust: It Is a vehicle to ensure maintenance and financial well being of the Structure we are all  Blessed  to have as a final resting place…

    John,
I am more than willing to continue the upkeep and maintenance of the chapel that everyone has worked so hard preserving for the next generation. I am sure there are other cousins also willing to help.

    Rose
