2013 Trip to Italy and Sicily
We flew to Rome and met Joe and Jen and spent the next 5 days traveling with them on the Eastern side of Italy. We stayed in a “tulli” a stone built home that is shaped like a cone. They were built this way to avoid paying taxes! We stayed in Alberobello and then traveled to Brindisi, Leece and other cities along the coast.
We went back to Rome and met up with Teri and Jim and Gina and Anthea Carnes. We then flew to Catania and spent several days traveling around southern Sicily. We went to Siracusa and Ortiga. Lots of Greek inflence. Went back to Rome and got a Papal Blessing from Pope Frances at St Peter’s.
We then traveled to Termini Imerese to meet with family and relatives. Took this picture of the Madonna at the Duomo
